Recall Greatness

Recall Greatness

Let's recall greatness
those who stood the test
of time.
They require no trophy
they services carry no fee
because they did it with love.
Love
selfless love.
They did all so we today can stand tall
Their reward cannot be found here
it resides above
where only the sincere ones gather.
Let's recall greatness that does not care
for that small portrait you prepared
for them to sit in.
No they broke the glass
because their dreams surpassed
everyone's greatest imagining.
Let's recall greatness
as they stood in the dark
and shone and shone
so we could see our own light.
Let's recall greatness
for they sought treasures not trophies.
All Greatness comes from God

To Encourage You…

There are times when we need to remember to look beyond the now to the truth of what has always been. So, here are eight way to rethink, and eight encouragements for any situation.

Don’t make yourself small to fit into someone else’s plan

You will shine the brightest once you have learned how to navigate those dark places

You do not fit where you are and so that is where you belong

You can only be a victim if that is the story you sell to yourself

You have to be ready to receive the table that God has prepared for you

Being stuck forces you to get stronger to push those stones out of your way

Hard times are the best times because they challenge how you think so you can finally make real that potential that’s been waiting in the wings.

Changing your location does not solve your problems only you can decide when there are no problems only opportunities.

Your thoughts impact your quality of life

A Word on Discouragement

Discouragement is dissatisfaction with the past, distaste for the present, and distrust of the future. It is ingratitudefor the blessings of yesterday, indifference to the opportuinities of todayand insecurity regarding strength for tomorrow. It is unawareness of the presence of beauty, unconcern for the needs of our fellowman, and unbelief in the promises of old. it is impatience with time, immaturity of thoughts, and impoliteness to God

– William A Ward

Do Not Waver

Do Not Waver

Those things within you
reach;
do not waver on them.

To waver is a lack of faith
teach;
yourself to stand your ground.

Do not waver
because you will falter
and all you ask
God's gifts
will slip through your fingers.

Be resolute
never leave you
to wander in the dark.

Let your way be lit
by a truth only faith can shine
Do not waver
in this your time
Instead choose your weapon
draw your victory line.

A New Dawn

A New Dawn

Tremulously
tentativly
cautiously
hope appears
beaten back by the lean years.

Unsupported by strong roots
it still shoots
strong in heart
a stubborn will
survival an unsung skill.

Hope marches on,
running
jumping
higher
refusing to die.

Final Thoughts

Final Thoughts

Any final words today?
Any way to beat this rain
as I go my way?
Do you have words of wisdom
after skimming off the scum
off your system?
Now that you see the light
lend me your shades
or does it fade
with time?
I will let you speak -
but one more question.

Was it worth it?

“Success has nothing to do with Potential”

I heard those words above and it stopped me in my track. It had me thinking. Wait a minute, “success has nothing to do with potential” I repeated this and then I had to agree. But before I agreed I had to recalibrate my thinking quick and in that moment I realised that along the way of life, without giving it a thought I realised I equated having potential with eventually being successful.

Maybe I was slow or a little bit too optimistic or even foolish to think like this, but there you are. However, I thought about it some more, then, I remembered someone I knew who had so much potential. He had so much of it that it was oozing out of him everywhere until that potential choked him or he choked it. But either he never moved beyond having that potential and after a while, no one could see it because he had lost it from ill-use and no use. When that happened everyone who initially cheered him and wished him well and waited for that potential to manifest set aside their banners, silenced their cheers and just disappeared. And could we blame them after all? What is the use of having a constant parade for someone who has nothing to celebrate – just the possibility? And who can take a possibility to the bank or leave it as a legacy? What was even worse was that over time having lost hold of that potential he was relegated to outer darkness, lost, to himself and everyone else.

So, it is true, potential does not equal success to have it mean something you have to do something and then do something and again do something. You have to water and nurture that potential at any and all times, in the face of any and everything. Don’t just have potential, make it work for you.
