A True Leader

A True Leader

There are many great minds
There are many great names
edged on many a graves.
Yet many were leaders
and many are coming on the quick.

Many strive to control
with a big beating stick
instead of a kind word
to defuse a situaion.

We must be right
in everyone's sight
and so we ignore
and close the door
on the truth.

But is anyone really willing to listen
anyone willing to truly lead?
Anyone willing to provide the water
that will wash your students' feet

Dream Seeds

Dream Seeds

What do you see
when you look ahead of you?
Do you see all the problems
or possibilities?
Do you see famine
ot the harvest to come
do you see bread
or the millions
that from your seeds
who will be fed.
DO you see a fallen forest
destroyed by hate and those depraved
or the potential of another forest
bursting out of your heard?
What do you see
within yourself?
DO you see a dead end
or the solution to a problem?
Are you afraid
that you will not make it?
Or are you building a bridge
on the strength of your dream seeds?

Friend Or Foe?

Friend Or Foe?

Taught in school
the golden rule can make fools
slaves to foolish truths
guided in chains from medusa's head
we are told
let yourselves be led
so someday you can lead the brain-
dead
whose souls have been sucked
in to vault of progress.
But we were never told
that someday too
we would find a tomb
just for us
like those we once led.
Friend or foe
who goes there
we will never know
because we only see what we were told
and are blinded by the truth.
Shall we call for the Light
even at this late night,
one more time,
and pray for us
it will come through?

Courage

Courage

Courage comes from faith
and faith discourages fear.
Courage is not losing heart
even when the storm is on your doorsteps
fighting to get in.
Courage is making the mountain before you
as small as a grain of sand
nothing less would suffice
to let the Sun shine in your life.
Courage is knowing your will never lack
because God will keep you on track.
Courage is making that lonely walk
because you made a certain talk.
That will make all the difference.

ALways You

Always You

You were always you
even when you wore other faces
not of you.
Even when you were confused
even when you were used
and abused
you were always you.
Even if you never knew
from time to time
especially because you were bruised
blacked and blued
until you lacked insight
But you
You were always within God's sight
and if you just hold on
He will gaurd the you He made
with all His might

I Found God Today

I Found God Today

I found God today
and guess what?
He had never gone away.
I had just lost my way.
Distracted by deception
feted by the thief of joy
false promises its only decoy.
But today I stopped
listened
and heard God say -
"keep going
I am right here.
Keep striving
for by your tears and my grace
you must win this race".
