Who Told You?

WHo Told You?

Who told you
to accept things they way they are?
Who told you to conform?
Who tricked you
told you
that is the only way
to follow the crowd.
WHo told you
you should never suffer
that trials would not appear?
Who told you to turn away
from who you truly are
to follow what they say?
Who told you
you were weak
that all your life you would expereince defeat?
Who told you lies
so that you belief
and the truth you cannot see?

Stop being deceived.

Reputation

Reputation

There goes the lie
on spindly legs.
It crawls
about
trying to find a route
out of the doubts
that it may not be who it seems.

The Lie:
We must protect Reputation -
at all cost:
kill if you must
steal, fight and cuss.
But don't let out
the truth of what it is...

Constructed to please the crowd
now a monster too proud
to be cowed by humilty.
Knees stiffened
back straight
eyes fixed on success' frivolities.
Now it goes through the door
Head held high
headed for the gate
that leads straight to hades.

Humility stand just a way off,
waiting for those who seek,
waiting for those who are meek.

Honesty

Honesty

Honesty says
yes she was self-serving in serving.
Honesty says
yes she tried
to get ahead
on top of your head.
Honesty says
yes I made many mistakes
and was blinded
by pride.

But -
she is ready to make an effort
to be better
do better
and remain honest
that she is imperfect.

Two Elephants Fought

Two Elephants Fought

Two Elephants fought,
and there was inconsolable weeping
because they brought nought
but senseless destruction and bleeding.

Two politican made a bet,
each from the comfort of their cars
how many citizens will welcome death
to make them their luminous star.

Two enemies tampled underfoot,
the gentle blades of grass,
the grass rooted helplessly looked
as hastily their futures scurried pass.

Two goliath drew their sword,
in a worldly display of power
they each declared themselves lord
but mercilessly shreded the gentle flowers.

Two sycophants stood at court,
before the people
looking for their support
but their words were poison and lethal.

The weak though many,
are the ones who get hurt
the ones whose loads are heavy
loads which stomps them slowly in the dirt.

Harvesting In Crisis

Harvesting In Crisis

Are you in a crisis
or
are you in a harvest?
Your crisis
can be somebody's harvest.
What you did will expose you.
Did you keep the faith
set a good foundation?
Hard Times are here,
They come to expose you.
They will tell you the truth,
reveal the true you.
What will you see in your mirror?
Do you see strength
or
Do you see waste?
Will you make it through,
last long enough,
so you and all you do
may gather for the harvest?

No More

No More

I know we say
it's for the best
that it is love expressed
by sacrifice
That's the test!
But enough!
No more!
If fear
is the centre of our world
it will crumble
with no true love returned.
Let us stop
painting fairytales
that create too many scales
that hide the ugly truth.
Let's give over to loss
carried and tossed
by the misfortunes of reality.
No more
let us cling to a dream
that destroys Selfesteem
nor be a slave
to a misfortune gained
in infantile candour.

What is Required of You

At a time such as this many people search for relieve. A relieve from constant bad news, death, misery and the threats of things seen and unseen. There is no end to the quest for relieve. However, finding such relieve seems to be more impossible as each day goes by. No matter what you do or how good you think you are trouble finds you. Now, this trouble comes in many forms and you get overwhelmed and run scared.

In your flight maybe all reason escapes and you start making bad choices, you start doubting yourself, God and every single person you know.

And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?

As you seek to outrun your thoughts, fears and bad choices you become lame and get slower and slower, until your feet give out and one day you and your burdens fall to the ground.

What to do then?

Stop running. Let us stop running. We can never out run the problems around us and the problems we have.

We need to stop and realize that everyone has problems, we all have burdens we carry, the only thing is that some may seem lighter than others. Is it possible to support each other, bear each other up? If there is a need we are more than capable of bearing each other up. If we can mange it, why have we abandoned the cause to simply be kind, spare a thought for someone else’s suffering and not just our own. Even if we get annoyed with others, we can’t take out our frustrations on them. We have to resist the urge to lash out, judge and condemn. We have to dig deep even while we carry our individual burdens to be fair to those around us.

Can it be done, knowing how we can be? It can be done, but it takes a constant struggle of doing what is required of us and not what we feel like doing just because.
