Courage

Courage

Courage comes from faith
and faith discourages fear.
Courage is not losing heart
even when the storm is on your doorsteps
fighting to get in.
Courage is making the mountain before you
as small as a grain of sand
nothing less would suffice
to let the Sun shine in your life.
Courage is knowing your will never lack
because God will keep you on track.
Courage is making that lonely walk
because you made a certain talk.
That will make all the difference.

ALways You

Always You

You were always you
even when you wore other faces
not of you.
Even when you were confused
even when you were used
and abused
you were always you.
Even if you never knew
from time to time
especially because you were bruised
blacked and blued
until you lacked insight
But you
You were always within God's sight
and if you just hold on
He will gaurd the you He made
with all His might

Nothing+God

Nothing+God

Nothing plus God
equals everything.
A difficult equation
to understand
for many of us
for His ways are not ours.

But take for a minute 
all those who started that way -
from David the Shepherd boy
dirty and unattractive
too puny
to grow into himself,
a mighty warrior King.
What about Moses?
was living in hell
because he doubted himself
yet God held him up
with a staff that could tell
of how great God is.
To Joseph the dreamer
who dreamed up great dreams
until they were real.

They all had their day
and are still remembered till today.

Let's go deeper still -
this world that we live in
was created from dust
brought into something.
From many a failures
God took us from our jaliors
and gave us a saviour.

They and we
grew into greatness.
God had to take them and us from nothing
Be in the equation-
and trust me with faith
the same destiny awaits us.

The Feast after the Fast

I crawled out of the belly of a whale
still in tact.
The green eyed monster 
tried to consume me,
but in this basin
I was lifted to safety.
Though my ribs are exposed
to the elements
The rain comes and washes
away the crispy foam left by my decay - 
fresh meat.
I first must die to be reborn
anew
afresh
restored.
In order to be filled
I must be empty.
To find true happiness
I must embrace mind numbing grief.
These supple limbs had to be broken in many places,
there was no other way.
To reach my destination
I had to take a leap off the cliff -
don't look down.
I had to lose it all
to gain.

Then when all is said and done
I still have to follow and not lead.

I Will Bring You Back

For I will bring you back...

Back from the edge of doom,
back from your own folly,
I will give you what you need to restore all that you have lost,
I will bring you back.

When everything has been stripped from you
fret not your sorrow will not last.
When the end is over and you have accepted your lot
I will bring you back.

After it has all been written - 
what was first spoken.
Then I will cast my eyes on you
and speak a new story for you
that will be written about you.
I will bring you back.

You will not have to cry for the lost
nor mourn for what is no more.
You will carry your shield of faith,
when it is restored.
I will return your armour
new again,
fit for the new battle to come.
I will be the light you need
to go on your way.
I will make your path clear
enough to make your way sure.
I will breathe new life in you.

For I will bring you back!

Someone Died Today

Someone Died Today
                              

Someone died today.
someone I knew
'Lord Jesus Christ!'
was all I could say.

Someone passed away.
The purest flower that ever
bloomed.
A spirit that shone
with love, joy and peace.

Someone went today.
she left her essence for us,
those who have been left behind.

Humanity lost one of its greats
and it will never be the same.
The air grew thin,
the world became dim.
But,
a blinding light shone up to heaven
to burn for all eternity.

God embraced one of our very own today.
Because she pleased Him greatly.
She has finally been gifted by His touch
the rest she needed so much.
