Birth

Aborted many times
you always returned.
In anger I left you
but still you followed.
In shame I denied you
but you never left me.
You were my disgrace
for many years
because you were mine,
but I was your pride
despite causing your tears.
With me
in me
you grew,
until I was ready,
to give birth to
you
and made me again new.
