Fixed Smile

"Nuh every kin teet ah laff"

I sit transfixed
at how easy it is
to lie with your eyes.
I know you
don't mean what you say
when you say it with that smile.
That dead eyed smile
flat not furled
to whisper even a colour of glee.
Just that smile
that holds no compromise.
