Lingering

Lingering

Lingering

half dead
liveless
yet
like Heracules
I linger
here
where i have been
uprooted
soilless
rudderless.

i begin to burn
out
as i try to live without
water to feed my soul

How long
shall i cling
before I burn out
and fall to my knees
